When started planning, as a small winery 20 years ago, the building of our new business, neither we nor our architects and companies had enough experience with building materials for this specific type of production.
After a few months of usage, the presence of increased humidity and tartaric acid showed its effects on our epoxy floors quite significantly. Localized tears started to appear and those of course spread further and the floor cracked. As everyone who works in the food processing field, these places become a possible have for bacteria and mold. In our field of work, this means endangerment of our product quality. Since not even the local repairs could help, we have decided for a more radical approach which was a complete floor change.
We searched for material which would be resitant to all effects which are present in our business and primarily a company which has the experience and finished projects with proven mulitple-year load. After a year, the decision fell on the UCRETE material by the BASF company and PRORECO.
The realization itself was quite fast, as this material could be applied after few days after base floor construction, which was in the hands of PRORECO very precise. Their work was made slightly difficult by the fact that they built the floor in a 10 years old hall, under time pressure and after disposition changes they had to fully change the hall’s dropping path.
PRORECO realized floor had proven itself as very resistant to mechanical, acid as well as hot steam encumbrance. Today, after 3 years of usage, there isn’t a single problematic spot which significantly simplifies and cheapens both maintenance and sanitation. After my experience I can wholeheartedly recommedn this floor to everyone, who wants to avoid problems that we went through.
